Hastelloy C22 Nuts are constructed from a flexible austenitic alloy composed of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum that has been strengthened with tungsten. The increased chromium content in Alloy C22's compositions provides increased oxidation resistance and can be applied in various oxidizing media. Tungsten and molybdenum aid the alloy to provide adequate resistance against reducing agents. At high temperatures, the alloy exhibits exceptional resistance to oxidation, carburization, and sulfidation. On the other hand, these nuts should not be utilized at temperatures exceeding 1250°F due to the possibility of embrittling phases forming.
