Hastelloy is a nickel alloy that has been enhanced with molybdenum and chromium to improve corrosion resistance. Hastelloy Bolts are available in a variety of grades, each with a unique chemical composition that has been optimized for a specific set of properties. In highly corrosive environments, it outperforms other alloy products such as Incoloy. Molybdenum improves overall workability and is also ductile and easily formed. These bolts have resistance to acids and oxidizing agents. These Hastelloy bolts are mainly available in two grades: C276 and C22.

Hastelloy Bolts' high nickel and molybdenum contents make them particularly resistant to pitting along with crevice corrosion particularly in reducing environments. The addition of chromium provides resistance in oxidizing media. The low carbon content reduces carbide precipitation during welding, allowing as-welded structures to retain corrosion resistance. This alloy is suitable for most chemical process applications as-welded because it resists the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the welded zone.
